Hij is ook 1Bog begonnen, gestoeld op hetzelfde principe. 1Bog onderhandelt met winkels en bedrijven voor korting op zonnepanelen en andere innovatieve, groene producten. Zo krijgen bedrijven een massa consumenten in de schoot geworpen. Consumenten profiteren op hun beurt van een groen koopje.
Helemaal in de gedachte van het activisme 2.0 is Carrotmob uitgegroeid tot een bedrijf – Virgance – dat allerlei projecten de wereld inslingert, gebaseerd op duurzaamheid. Stel dat al die potentiële leden voor honderd dollar meedoen dan komt er volgens Virgance meer vermogen beschikbaar dan de Wereldbank in kas heeft. Maar dat klinkt wel erg als wishful thinking.
